🌴 GASC Warm Weather Training Camp – Lanzarote Success

In February, 27 of our swimmers travelled to Lanzarote for our club’s warm weather training camp, joined by five supervising adults, at the fantastic BarcelĂł Active Resort.Â
This camp takes place during a key point in the swimming season. Training outdoors in warm conditions allows swimmers to train consistently, recover well, and focus fully on their development away from everyday distractions. It’s an opportunity to build endurance, refine technique, strengthen team bonds and prepare for the busy competition months ahead.Â
Across the week, swimmers completed an intensive program of pool sessions, land training and team activities. The commitment and attitude shown by every swimmer was outstanding and the progress across the week was clear to see.Â

This trip would not have been possible without the incredible support from our swimmers and families, who worked tirelessly fundraising over many months. Activities included:
- Cake & candy stalls at Michael Woods
- Parents taking on some very impressive (and slightly crazy!) running challenges
- Italian wine and gin tasting events
- Fundraising hampers
- A huge raffle with some fantastic prizes
We were also incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation from Tribute Nights, which helped boost the camp fund.Â
A special thank you also goes to Peter Gulline, who supported the club in applying for funding from Fife Council, helping us secure a grant to support the trip.Â
The dedication from swimmers, parents, volunteers and supporters truly shows what our club community can achieve when everyone pulls together.Â
It was an unforgettable experience for our swimmers, and we’re incredibly proud of the hard work, resilience and team spirit they showed throughout the week.
